ABOUT

E/Me/R/G is an international research network that aims at exploring the audiovisual media landscape in the light of the encounter between humanities and cognitive sciences with an emphasis on the 4EA approach to cognition and experience.

ACTIVITIES

The activities of E/ME/R/G include international workshops and conferences, editorial projects, research projects and initiatives.

BOARDS

The Scientific Committee is composed of a board of international scholars with an expertise in research on film, media, digital technologies, cognitive science, phenomenology, philosophy of mind, psychology, and neuroscience.

AIMS & OBJECTIVES

/ Define an ecological model for the analysis of contemporary media experience, also by rethinking “classic” approaches (filmology, film historiography, media ecology; Gestalt aesthetics, etc.)

/ Establish an interdisciplinary dialogue across humanities, social sciences, hard sciences, computer science and information technology

/ Encourage a collaboration between academic institutions and both private and public institutions and fostering international research projects with high relevance and impact for society

/ Create scientific opportunities (meetings, publications, public lectures, etc.) aimed at exchanging and disseminating innovative acquisitions and findings

/ Support research centers and labs in the definition of research goals and procedures for the study of media experiences and offer resources for researchers, scholars, and students on an online open-access platform

/ Promote educational programs and didactic initiatives based on cross-disciplinary knowledge
